House of Sampoerna Museum offers visitors a unique experience. Its presents the story of Sampoerna’s founder in building one of the most leading companies in Indonesia today. For more than a century, Sampoerna takes pride in the tradition and philosophy of the Three Hands and Anggarda Paramita.
Visitors will engage in a journey through Sampoerna’s heritage that transcends time and place. The museum also provides Self-Authorized Information (SARI), a self-guide application to help visitors explore every charming corner of House of Sampoerna Museum.
Also known as The West Wing House, The Residence is currently an exhibition space since its refurbishment in 2017. It used to be the residence of Liem Seeng Tee and Siem Tjiang Nio, the couple who founded Sampoerna.
Galeri Paviliun presents various artworks such as a photograph, ancient artifacts and manuscripts, traditional fabrics, wayang puppets, graphic designs and so on. This part of the complex frequently holds art exhibitions cooperating with local, national and international artists, photographers, collectors and communities. Its attractiveness often entices prominent art and culture institutions to collaborate or participate in events held at Galeri Paviliun.
The souvenir shop offers a wide range of House of Sampoerna’s signature souvenirs or local handicrafts, such as exquisite batik, t-shirts, books and others.
Surabaya Heritage Track (SHT)
SHT is a sightseeing bus tour to explore the heritage of Surabaya around the old-town in the Northern area of the city.
To explore beyond House of Sampoerna museum and galleries, visitor may hop on the bus to go around town for around an hour. The bus design is inspired by the tram that used to roam across Surabaya back in early 19th century. It will bring visitors to witness history through Surabaya’s cultural heritage buildings and deep dive on interesting topics: Majestic History of Surabaya city, History of City of Heroes, Chronicles of Surabaya and the Culture of Arek, cognomen of Surabaya’s citizens that represents the characters of the city. Of course, it’s free of charge!
