Sampoerna's marching band was initiated by Putera Sampoerna in 1986 as a part of Sampoerna's employee activities. Through the selection of employees from all divisions, more than 200 players were gathered together and officially established on 14 February 1989 under the name of “Marching Band Sampoerna”.

It is a series of activities and programs as the Company’s contribution and participation in developing the Nation and people of Indonesia, as well as to inspire and motivate the community to do give the best for themselves and Indonesia. “Sampoerna untuk Indonesia” activity and programs cover various fields, such as education, woman empowerment, economic development as well as disaster relief and preparedness.
The Sampoerna Entrepreneurship Training Center (SETC) was established in 2007 on 27 hectares of land at Pasuruan in East Java, to empower the surrounding communities. SETC plays an active role in providing entrepreneurial training for general public in collaboration with related stakeholders and for Sampoerna employees as a retirement preparation. Over 46,000 people have participated in its SME development trainings and more than 300 SMEs from various cities, including Pasuruan, Surabaya, Malang, Yogyakarta, Jember, Bandung, Semarang and Palembang, now have partnerships with Sampoerna. SETC is equipped with a SAR training facility which is the only independent SAR training facility not run by the government.
